Public School Volunteer Week is being celebrated throughout the Olympia School District Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22.
The Olympia School Board unanimously approved a proclamation last month naming April 18-22 as Public School Volunteer Week.
The local recognition coincides with both the state and national Public School Volunteer Week.
The proclamation states in part that volunteers “are an integral part of student learning, play an important role in the education of students and provide a valuable partnership link with our community.”
Nearly 4,000 people, including parents, students, and community members, serve this year as Olympia School District volunteers.
Remember next week to take time to thank those who volunteer their time to help students succeed.
